Regardless of the benefits and efficiencies that a new process may bring, confusion, avoidance, and the need for a culture change should be among the first topics considered and addressed. Training, process outlines and implication considerations are crucial to the success of a newly introduced technology process.<\/p>\n

When we talk about process changes that are essential to technology implementation, like that of a applicant tracking system<\/a>, the situation gets even more complicated. It\u2019s one thing to change the flow of information in an organization without a new piece of technology. It\u2019s another to introduce a technology that essentially removes the need for manual communication of information, particularly if your consultants are accustomed to it.<\/p>\n

So how do you get your employees to adopt the new recruitment technology<\/a> that you’ve selected? Let\u2019s start from the beginning.\u00a0Before you even began your software\u00a0evaluation, did you consider the needs of those individuals on your team who would actually use the tool?<\/p>\n

Before you evaluate or introduce any type of new recruitment technology<\/a>, you may want to have a discussion with your team to both understand individual\u00a0expectations and also to level-set\u00a0the factors that\u00a0will likely go into your decision. Consider completing the following check-list prior to your technology evaluation:<\/p>\n

  1. Identify process leaders, from both a business department and IT management perspective.<\/li>\n
  2. Involve your consultants\u00a0and understand the current processes that would be effected by a change.<\/li>\n
  3. Share your exact goals with your extended team, including the processes you\u2019re looking to improve and the efficiencies you\u2019re seeking.<\/li>\n
  4. Recognize all technologies that may be impacted by a new tool or process.<\/li>\n
  5. Determine a high-level training plan (subject to change) at the beginning of your evaluation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
