You never seem to have as much as you&#8217;d like. Indeed, <a href=\"https:\/\/grid.bullhorn.com\/apac\/key-findings\/?LS=Website&amp;LSD=Blog_AU&amp;LA=GRID_PROMO&amp;LAD=GRID&amp;utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=website&amp;utm_campaign=gridblog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">54 percent of recruitment professionals say<\/a> candidate acquisition\/sourcing is a top priority (making it the top priority for 2019). Making matters worse, the talent shortage doesn&#8217;t appear to be going anywhere soon\u2014it&#8217;s the number one challenge for recruitment agencies for the fourth year in a row.<\/p>\n<p>So you probably want to find and place more candidates. But what&#8217;s the best way to do it?<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Referrals from candidate placements<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The old recruitment truism, &#8220;good people know good people&#8221; has stuck around for a reason\u2014recruitment agencies say it&#8217;s the top source for quality candidates.\u00a0 Many agencies have a similar experience to that of Rolf Kramer of Kranect.\u00a0<span>Kramer took a look at the data and found that when it comes to sourcing candidates, 42 percent of his team\u2019s recent placements came from referrals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Why are referrals so valuable? According to Kramer, referrals result in better placements:\u00a0\u201cThey\u2019re more qualified because the referring person knows what we do and knows they\u2019re a good fit. They were referred because someone thought we\u2019d work well together.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>But quality referrals won&#8217;t generate from thin air. They&#8217;re the result of a top-notch candidate experience. Candidates won&#8217;t recommend a friend to use your agency if their experience was an unpleasant one.
