Rosabeth Moss Kanter, professor at the Harvard Business School, recently shared what she anticipates will be the key trends of this decade in a recent post on the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.hbr.org\/2010\/01\/four-trends-for-the-tens\/\" target=\"_blank\">Harvard Business Review<\/a>. One trend in particular really stood out to me. She notes that there will be a trend around \u201cmacro over micro\u201d. \u201cIt\u2019s still important to execute well, but the field of management will not yield many new insights as big as strategy, innovation, or quality.\u201d She continues on with a statement that really struck a chord with me &#8211; <em>&#8220;success will come from a focus on impact, not process&#8221;<\/em>. Though execution and process are key drivers of efficiency and profitability, at the end of the day, she is right, it&#8217;s the focus on <em>impact<\/em> that will lead to superior results.<\/p>\n<p>In my early days as part of the Bullhorn team, I\u2019ve already started to develop a theory about the Bullhorn Platform &#8211; a system that allows recruiting, sales and management to work together across key activities including managing job orders, client relationships, tracking and communicating with candidates, sourcing candidates, and posting jobs. I\u2019m going to call this theory the <em>Bullhorn Effect<\/em>. While Bullhorn essentially takes care of &#8220;micro&#8221; details and process, that in turn helps recruiters focus on &#8220;the macro,&#8221; the impact- ultimately filling jobs fast with quality candidates. Given the breadth of the Platform, my personal theory is that users will tend to have one, two, maybe three(tops), features that help them make an impact including tracking applicants or job orders, sourcing, or maybe its something else. And those capabilities &#8211; the impact of the Bullhorn Platform, that&#8217;s the Bullhorn Effect.
