Yet the problem isn\u2019t just confined to hi-tech firms. As Jake Schwartz, co-founder and CEO of General Assembly, puts it, \u201call companies are becoming tech companies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Countless studies have been published highlighting the digital skills gap and how it is affecting productivity and competitiveness. <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/index.php?title=ICT_specialists_-_statistics_on_hard-to-fill_vacancies_in_enterprises#Employment_and_recruitment_of_ICT_specialists\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IT job statistics from Eurostat<\/a> illustrate the problem in Europe, showing that despite an increase in the number of IT specialists in the market, half of all businesses in Europe have difficulties recruiting tech talent.
