The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bullhorn.com\/au\/grid\/2023-talent-report\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GRID 2023 Talent Trends Report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> revealed that 68% of candidates would continue working with their current recruiter \u2014 but that rises to 84% when recruiters contact them more than once a week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With talent pools as tight as they are (and are likely to remain), that boost in candidate loyalty could be critical.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Frequency of communication is paramount<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">28% of recruiters are communicating with candidates once a week \u2014 and once a week seems to be the sweet spot. In spite of the rise of text messaging, email still remains the top choice \u2014 and most recruiters are honoring that preference.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, they could lean in more to LinkedIn and rely less on phone communication \u2014 22% of candidates still report their recruiters reach out with a phone call. But there are some subtle differences that recruitment agencies will want to keep an eye on.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, Baby Boomers are much more likely to prefer text communication than all other groups. And Millennials and Gen Z are more likely to embrace WhatsApp \u2014 which is even more true in Europe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>What should you be doing now?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Generational differences will likely grow over time, so agencies will want to carefully track the data and tailor their outreach accordingly. And it is likely that more and more candidates will expect text or app-based communication in the future.
