experience at a recent <\/span><\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ukrecruiter.co.uk\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">UK Recruiter<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"> conference was part of most of the discussions and presentations. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">In his opening speech, Neil Carberry, CEO of REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation), outlined the most important <\/span><\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BillyMcDiarmid\/status\/1062658588198494210\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">characteristics of<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"> a future-oriented recruiter. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">For each property there was an element that influenced the experience of the applicants; searches<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"> as evidence. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">These have increased by 900% in the past two years &#8211; a clear indication that we as a society want access to immediate, time-critical information.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">However, there is no doubt that recruiters have noticed a huge increase in their daily workload. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">Given the simplicity of online search and connections, professionals need to go through a lot of information. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">In addition, administrative tasks such as checking the calendar, reminding appointments and formatting resumes consume a large part of the resources. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">How can recruiters time <\/span><\/span><\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">grant<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"> to bring the human touch back into the hiring process and thus to strengthen the focus on the candidate experience?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">Automate, automate, automate<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">The answer is technology. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">A large part of the tasks of the recruiter can essentially be automated. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">There are chatbots that can be integrated into your ATS and calendar to schedule or reschedule appointments and respond immediately to inquiries. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">This gives the candidates the sense of immediacy they are looking for. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">Automating such responses can help agencies adapt to the life of applicants; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit\">A participant at the event said that analysis of response times and interactions in their database showed that the majority of their contacts are active around 11:00 p.m. &#8211;
