{"id":20597,"date":"2014-05-29T13:59:52","date_gmt":"2014-05-29T17:59:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bullhorn.com\/eu\/?page_id=584"},"modified":"2025-12-26T15:51:25","modified_gmt":"2025-12-26T15:51:25","slug":"daily-interruptions-costing-uk-recruitment-agencies-127000-revenue","status":"publish","type":"press_release","link":"https:\/\/www.bullhorn.com\/eu\/news-and-press\/press-releases\/daily-interruptions-costing-uk-recruitment-agencies-127000-revenue\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Interruptions Costing UK Recruitment Agencies \u00a3127,000 in Revenue Every Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Inefficient daily workflows are costing UK recruitment agencies hundreds of thousands of pounds a year in lost revenue, according to recruitment software leader <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bullhorn.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bullhorn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTypically agencies can make significant savings by changing the way they handle interruptions, data entry, systems use and training new hires,\u201d explains Mike Restivo, VP International Sales, Bullhorn. \u201cRecruitment is about securing requirements and making placements \u2013 ensuring you move from that starting point to that end point as quickly as possible, is the key to increasing revenue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bullhorn has identified four recruitment agency workflow \u2018problem areas\u2019:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Interruptions<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Restivo explains: \u201cIt\u2019s not possible to eliminate disruptions but the way they\u2019re handled can be greatly improved. The average recruitment consultant deals with up to 50 interruptions per day so this was the first workflow area we focussed on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bullhorn research: <em>A sample organisation with <strong>ten <\/strong>recruitment consultants making <strong>\u00a31.4 <\/strong>million annually and dealing with <strong>50 <\/strong>interruptions (per consultant) per day could be losing <strong>1,970 <\/strong>hours or <strong>\u00a3170,000 <\/strong>in potential revenue per year. Cutting the time spent on interruptions by half (<strong>985 <\/strong>hours) would yield<strong>\u00a385,000 <\/strong>in extra revenue, and reducing it by <strong>75 per cent <\/strong>would result in<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a3127,000 <\/em><\/strong><em>in revenue.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Data entry<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Restivo explains: \u201cEven in the age of social media recruiters still find their internal ATS the most valuable source of quality candidates. It\u2019s imperative that candidate data is entered quickly and accurately &#8211; this five minute process can be collapsed to just 90 seconds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bullhorn research: <em>A professional recruitment firm with <strong>45 <\/strong>recruiters on staff, making <strong>\u00a36.2 million <\/strong>in annual revenue that enters approximately <strong>24,000 <\/strong>CVs into its candidate database annually would free up <strong>1,400 <\/strong>hours per year for recruitment consultants to allocate towards money-making activities, amounting to <strong>\u00a3120,000 <\/strong>in increased revenue.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Number of systems<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Restivo explains: \u201cIt\u2019s not complicated \u2013 if a recruiter is using five different systems then it\u2019s likely that he or she is entering the same data multiple times, a massive inefficiency with increased likelihood of inconsistencies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bullhorn research: <em>A professional recruitment firm that currently enters data into <strong>five or six <\/strong>different systems, at <strong>five <\/strong>minutes per system, could save up to <strong>20-25 <\/strong>minutes per entry by using a single fully-integrated solution.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">New Starters<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Restivo explains: \u201cTraining new members of your team in different systems is time intensive. \u00a0Eliminate the systems; reduce the time taken to onboard; get your recruiters recruiting faster!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bullhorn research: <em>For a recruitment firm with <strong>20 <\/strong>recruitment consultants making <strong>\u00a32.5 million <\/strong>in revenue per year, a consultant\u2019s time would be worth approximately <strong>\u00a376 <\/strong>per hour.
