We\u2019ve summed up the most important information from our training webinar below, so read on to learn about Bullhorn Find, basic and advanced candidate searching, and boolean operators. These tips will help you locate candidates as fast as possible in order to be as productive as possible.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/b-3RvcDY4do\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bullhorn Find<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><b>00:51:<\/b> <b>How to use Bullhorn Find<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bullhorn Find is the quickest way to locate a record of any kind in your Bullhorn system. It\u2019s located at the top left-hand corner of your Bullhorn screen and is identified with a magnifying glass. There are two ways to run a search. You can either type directly into this search box and press enter to access an entire list of search results, or you can type into the search box and select the record you\u2019re looking for from the drop-down, which will open that record directly. This method is preferred when you know your candidate\u2019s name and spelling.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2:07: Accessing recent records via Bullhorn Find<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you simply click into Bullhorn Find and don\u2019t type anything, the drop-down will display the most recent 10 records you\u2019ve searched and accessed. This list will only display records that have been selected and opened (as opposed to searches that you may have run but you didn\u2019t select any records from).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>3:44: Searching by Candidate ID\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Say for example you have several candidates with the same name\u2014another way to identify the correct record would be via their candidate ID. Rather than searching by name, you can search by the record\u2019s unique ID in Bullhorn Find (if you know it).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>5:05: Searching by Candidate last name<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You might not know a candidate\u2019s ID, which is perfectly normal. Instead, try searching by a candidate\u2019s last name\u2014by searching for a word, this automatically signifies to Bullhorn that this is the candidate\u2019s last name. This search will pull up several lists of related records, all separated by the entity type (i.e., type of record; Company, Candidate, etc.). You can narrow your search down further by manipulating the filters across each entity\u2019s list.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>6:48: Searching by Candidate first name<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019d like to search by a Candidate\u2019s first name, add an asterisk at the end of the name. For example; James* would bring up all my candidates with James as a first name, and none with James as a last name.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>7:33: Searching by email address<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like an ID number, an email address is unique to each person. By searching by email address, you\u2019re more likely to find the candidate you\u2019re looking for.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>8:17: Searching by partial name<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you know part of someone\u2019s name, or perhaps are unsure how someone spells their name (was it Christine, or Christina?) you can search by part of their name. Take the example \u201cBullhorn Buddy\u201d\u2014typing Bull Bud would bring up the appropriate record.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>9:10: Searching by phone number<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re located in the United States, you can also search for candidates by their phone number. Like IDs and email addresses, this is more than likely a unique identifier and will help you find the desired candidate. Unfortunately, this search feature is only applicable to North American phone numbers at this time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>9:44: Clearing your search<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you see the read \u201c<\/span><b>Clear<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d button on the right-hand side of your screen, it\u2019s a reminder that you have already run a search or applied a filter. If you run a search and no records show up, the first thing you should do is ensure that you\u2019ve hit the <\/span><b>Clear<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button, and aren\u2019t trying to run a search on top of an existing search.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Boolean Search<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/b-3RvcDY4do?start=661\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center><br \/>\n<b>11:01: Searching from the Candidate List<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You don\u2019t necessarily have to search via Bullhorn Find\u2014you can also search by any of your entity lists. In this example, we\u2019ll be searching via the Candidate list. Begin by clicking the search box on the candidate list, and you\u2019ll see a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Type in Keywords<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> box. This box searches in seven specific fields, which you can view by hovering over the magnifying glass. These fields are ID, Name, Current Company, Type, Title, CV, and File Attachment, and are standard across all Bullhorn clients (though terminology may vary regionally). For example, if you search for \u201cManager,\u201d this will search for that keyword in any of those fields.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>14:01: Boolean Operators<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Boolean operators are search words and punctuation that you can use to instruct your database how to specifically run your search.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>AND<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/b> By using the operating word <b>AND<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between your keywords, you\u2019re telling your database that you want to search for a record that has <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">both <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of your keywords. For example, \u201cManager AND Sales\u201d would bring up any records that have both keywords.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>OR: <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/b>By using the operating word OR<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between your keywords, you\u2019re telling your database that you want to search for a record that has <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">either<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of your keywords.For example, \u201cManager OR Sales\u201d would bring up any records that have at least one of those keywords.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>NOT<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/b> By using the operating word NOT<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between your keywords, you\u2019re telling your database that you want to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">exclude <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">any records that has your keyword. For example, \u201cManager NOT Sales\u201d would bring up any records that have manager in those fields, but <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sales.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Brackets<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>:<\/strong> By using the brackets operator, you\u2019re telling your database that you want a particular part of your search to be run first, like a math problem. For example, \u201cManager AND (Sales OR Retail)\u201d would bring up any records that have either sales or retail as a keyword, and which of those records also include manager.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Quotation Marks:<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By using quotation marks, you\u2019re telling your database to read a string of keywords as an <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">exact<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> phrase match. You should use it when you want to require multiple words to be searched as a phrase, in the order you&#8217;ve typed them. For example, \u201cBusiness Analyst\u201d would search for the entire phrase, not \u201cBusiness\u201d AND \u201cAnalyst.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Asterisk:<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By using the asterisk, you\u2019re telling your database that you want to account for different spellings and\/or root variations of a word. The asterisk, or \u201cwildcard\u201d returns words with letters that can replace the asterisk in your search term. For example, \u201cmanag*\u201d would search for any term that contains \u201cmanag,\u201d should as management, manager, managerial, etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Basic Search<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/b-3RvcDY4do?start=1192\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>19:52: Navigating to Basic Search<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To navigate to basic search, all you need to do is click <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Switch to Basic<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at the bottom right-hand side of the keyword search box in the list view. You\u2019ll know you\u2019re in basic search mode because the search box will display REQUIRED, OPTIONAL, and EXCLUDED sections. Searching in this way will help you run boolean searches without having to create the search queries on your own.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>21:17: Basic Searching Description<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you check the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only Search Description<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> box at the bottom of the Basic Search box, your search will no longer apply to those seven specific fields\u2014instead, the search will only apply to the CV field.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Q&amp;A<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/b-3RvcDY4do?start=1361\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/center><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>22:41<\/strong>: How can I save a search that I\u2019m running quite frequently?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u00a022:20:<\/strong> Will Bullhorn automatically save my most recent searches if I want to go back to them?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>25:19:<\/strong> Once I have run a search, is there a way to see a quick view of a candidate\u2019s profile, or will I need to click the entire profile to view the information?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>26:45:<\/strong> What is the score column measured by?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<a
