How to Build a Customer Newsletter Automation<\/p>\n

Follow these steps:<\/p>\n

  1. Click Add Automation and select \u2018Candidate-based.\u2019<\/li>\n
  2. Name your automation. Maybe something like \u2018BWB – Client Newsletter.\u2019<\/li>\n
  3. Under \u2018Choose the type of automation,\u2019 select \u2018Center on date field.\u2019<\/li>\n
  4. In the drop down, choose \u2018Fixed Date,\u2019 and then enter the date that the automation will trigger around.\u00a0 Click Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  5. Automation Enrollment will automatically open. Click \u2018Create New List.\u2019<\/li>\n
  6. Under List Settings, select \u2018Always Updated\u2019 as the type of list and then name your list.<\/li>\n
  7. Enter your search criteria using the dropdown under \u2018Total number of candidates that match this search.\u2019 Your search criteria should be:\n

    1. In the left drop down select \u2018Status.\u2019<\/li>\n
    2. In the middle drop down select \u2018Is Not.\u2019<\/li>\n
    3. In the right drop down select \u2018DNC,\u2019 \u2018No Longer With Company,\u2019 and \u2018Archive.\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    4. Click Save under List Settings, then click Save under Automation Enrollment.<\/li>\n
    5. Click the plus sign to add a new step to your automation. Select \u2018Create Email.’<\/li>\n
    6. Select \u2018From Scratch – Drag and Drop.\u2019<\/li>\n
    7. Email Settings will automatically open. Under \u2018Subject\u2019, keep \u2018Merge Tags\u2019 in the drop down. In the box below that, add the newsletter name.<\/li>\n
    8. Click \u2018From,\u2019 and select \u2018Generic Email.\u201d Below that, add the email address and name that you would like to send the email from. Click Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    9. The newsletter template will open. Click the \u2190 button next to the newsletter name at the top of the page.<\/li>\n
    10. Click the plus sign to add a new step to your automation. Select \u2018Add Wait,\u201d to add a wait step.\n

      1. Adjust the time period within the \u2018Wait\u2019 box. For example, if you want the next newsletter to go out 30 days after the current one, select \u201830\u2019 \u2018Days\u2019 \u2018After\u2019 the current send date.<\/li>\n
      2. Select the time of day that you would like the email to send. Click Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      3. Click the plus sign to add a new step to your automation. Select \u2018Send email.\u201d<\/li>\n
      4. Repeat steps 12-15 to build out additional newsletters and add them to the automation workflow.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Each newsletter will go out on the specific date that you indicate for each email. So, each newsletter will only go out to the contacts that are on the list as of the send date.<\/p>\n
