Is there anything I could be doing differently that will help me, and my team, drive towards smashing our business goals?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Often we find that something which previously didn\u2019t register as a priority is worth reviewing again &#8211; giving a little time to housekeeping within the Bullhorn database will always deliver valve, whether you are brand new to our products, or veterans of Bullhorn with extensive knowledge of set-up capabilities, features and building processes tailored to your business needs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although using <\/span><b>Job Tracks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is optional, I haven\u2019t yet come across a business that doesn\u2019t see value in investing a small amount of time setting these up.\u00a0 In short, if you don\u2019t currently use Job <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tracks, the Add\/Edit screen will pull data fields from the \u2018master\u2019 Job track, and have all the same fields regardless of <\/span><b>employment type<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The purpose of Job Tracks is to <\/span><b>streamline the creation of a job record<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0and ensure the data fields are relevant to employment type, removing the need to complete irrelevant fields.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ultimately, this will bring time-saving efficiencies to your users &#8211; nobody wants to waste time reviewing unnecessary data fields &#8211; and help them to deliver accurate and relevant data during the job creation process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Note: Only users with Admin rights can create\/update Tracks.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A couple of tips to keep in mind, the process to set up Job Tracks is straightforward, using Field Mappings to create <\/span><b>multiple job tracks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that will display different fields depending on which<\/span><b> employment type<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the user selects when adding the record.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Example: You can have a Salary field display when adding a direct hire job\/placement and Bill and Pay Rate fields display when adding a contract job\/placement.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a best practice, when setting up fields within tracks, it&#8217;s important that each field is used for the <\/span><b>same purpose across all tracks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 This isn\u2019t a mandatory requirement, but is recommended as it helps when applying updates\/amendments to specific fields,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Example: If you use customText3 to create a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bonus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> field in Job II, you should only use customText3 for a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bonus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> field in Job III, IV, and V.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Below is an overview of how to set up Job Tracks that are relevant to your business, for further details, <a href=\"https:\/\/help.bullhorn.com\/bhatsTopics\/s\/article\/ATS-Creating-Multiple-Job-Placement-or-Opportunity-Tracks\">please refer to this article<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Creating Multiple Job Tracks<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Access <\/span><b>Field Mappings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from your Bullhorn menu (Admin &#8211; Field Mappings)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hint: If your business has multiple Private Labels, ensure the correct one is chosen using the drop-down arrow:<\/span><\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-75227 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bullhorn.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/job-tracks-1.png\" alt=\"Job Tracks\" width=\"512\" height=\"104\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bullhorn.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/job-tracks-1.png 512w, https:\/\/www.bullhorn.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/job-tracks-1-300x61.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the arrow to the left of the first Job track: <\/span><b>Job<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Note: Your business may have renamed the Job entity to Vacancy \/ Assignment etc)<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the \u2018master\u2019 field list for all Job tracks, you use the subsequent job tracks to define the characteristics of each employment type. Note: <\/span><b>all fields must be unhidden<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in this track to appear on other tracks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add a filter to the Field box: <\/span><b><i>employmentType<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to determine your list of employment types already in place:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-75228 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bullhorn.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/job-tracks-2.png\" alt=\"Job Tracks\" width=\"512\" height=\"218\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bullhorn.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/job-tracks-2.png 512w, https:\/\/www.bullhorn.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/job-tracks-2-300x128.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add new job type names to the Value List as required: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hint: you should keep the <\/span><b>order of the employment types <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in this field the same order that the employment types are <\/span><b>listed in the subsequent job entities.<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">i.e. Direct Hire = Job II \u00a0 Contract = Job III\u00a0 Contract to Hire = Job IV<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you have added all relevant types in the master value list, you can then go into each Track and add each<\/span><b> employmentType in the Value List box:\u00a0 <\/b>i<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.e. Job II\u00a0 Direct Hire:<\/span><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-75229 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bullhorn.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/job-tracks-3.png\" alt=\"Job Tracks\" width=\"512\" height=\"220\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bullhorn.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/job-tracks-3.png 512w, https:\/\/www.bullhorn.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/02\/job-tracks-3-300x129.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remember, whilst in the relevant job track, you should <\/span><b>hide &amp; unhide all fields applicable<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to that job track.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Note:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Repeat these steps for all job tracks\/employment types for your business.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Three Tips For Success<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To verify if you already have<\/span><b> Tracks set up, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">check<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">if employmentType in Track II is empty, then check Tracks III, IV, and V.\u00a0 If all are empty, you don\u2019t have Tracks set up.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When updating the employmentType <\/span><b>Value List<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, be sure to separate the values with commas and no spaces in between, i.e. Direct Hire,Contract,Contract To Hire.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you have completed your set-up and hit Save, make sure you <\/span><b>log out and log back in again<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to see changes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Good to know\u2026..<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whilst you are giving time and attention to getting your Job Tracks up to speed, I should also point out that<\/span><b> Tracks <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are also available in the <\/span><b>Placement<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> entity and the <\/span><b>Opportunity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> entity (Opportunity for Enterprise edition only).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Note:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> While Job tracks are standard functionality, you must contact Bullhorn Support to have Placement tracks enabled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a best practice, and because many of the fields on a placement record are correlated to the fields on a job record, they should also share the same purpose. I recommend matching each employment type as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Example: If Job II represents Direct Hire jobs, then Placement II should be for Direct Hire placements.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The creation of Placement and Opportunity Tracks follows the same process as listed for Jobs, and more details can be found in the article listed above.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As with any change you make within Bullhorn, ensure you give time to explain the changes to your wider user teams.
