In September, 30,440 roles were being recruited for across the top 10 most advertised job types in Australia. 

This was a 12.5% increase from the number of positions available in August 2020. “Chefs/Cooks” returned to the top 10 jobs being recruited for and “Childcare & Outside School Hours Care” no longer appeared in the top 10 list.

In September, 31,838 roles were being recruited for across the top 10 most advertised job types in Australia. 

This was a 4.6% increase from the number of positions available in September 2020. "Waiting Staff" appeared in the top 10 roles for the first time, which saw "Retail Assistants" no longer appear in the list

In September 2020, 106,142 roles were being recruited for across the top 10 industries advertising open positions.

The top represented industries have not changed for the past 3 months, though the total number of positions open for the same industries has increased by 13% from August to September .

In October 2020, 114,530 roles were being recruited for across the top 10 industries advertising open positions.

The top represented industries have not changed for the past 3 months, though the total number of positions open for the same industries has increased by 7.9% from September to October .

The businesses listed above represent those with the highest number of open vacancies. You will see that the companies listed change month on month.

Out of the top companies represented in September 13,526 of those roles were vacancies for the education sector, versus only 2,175 education vacancies in October. The Web Rover data states that their was a 47% decrease in roles being recruited by the top 10 business from September to October. This is largely to do with the decrease in the number of education roles.  

Across both months supermarkets (Woolworths) was the next biggest entity recruiting positions.

In September 2020, 503,830 roles were being recruited across Australia.

This was a 19% increase on the number of roles available across the country in August (81,421 additional positions).

With the increase in jobs across Australia month on month, we saw the distribution across states and territories remain consistent with previous months, with NSW still having 34% of open positions.

In October 2020, 546,810 roles were being recruited across Australia.

This was a 8.5% increase on the number of roles available across the country in September.
