In July 2020, 27,872 roles were being recruited for across the top 10 most advertised job types in Australia.

This was a 17% increase in available positions  for the top ten represented job types over June 2020. Positions in "Warehousing, Storage & Distribution" overtook "Aged & Disability Support" as the job type with the highest number of vacancies from June to July.

In August 2020, 27,057 roles were being recruited for  across the top 10 most advertised job types in Australia.

This was a 3% decrease from the number of available positions in July 2020. "Retail Assistant" moved into the top 10 jobs being recruited for and "Chefs/Cooks" no longer appeared in the top 10 list.

In July 2020, 91,200 roles were being recruited for across the top 10 industries advertising open positions.

The top represented industries have not changed from June 2020 to July 2020, though the total number of positions open for the same industries has increased by 14% month on month.

In August 2020, 88,480 roles were being recruited for across the top 10 industries advertising open positions.

The top represented industries have not changed from July 2020 to August 2020, though the total number of positions open for the same industries has decreased by 3% month on month.

The businesses listed above represent those with the highest number of open vacancies. You will see that the companies listed change week to week.

Out of the top companies represented in the last week of August, 56% have vacancies specifically for the education sector. When looking at companies listed in previous weeks the industries they served were more evenly distributed.

In July 2020, 384,932 roles were being recruited for across Australia.

This was a 19% increase on the number of roles available across the country in June (62,357 additional positions).

In July 34% of the open positions were in NSW.

In August 2020, 422,409 roles were being recruited for across Australia.

This was a 10% increase on the number of roles available across the country in August (37,477 additional positions).

With the increase in jobs across Australia month on month, we saw the distribution across states and territories remain consistent with previous months, with NSW still having 34% of open positions.
