Atlanta leads food and accommodations openings

Despite a broader pullback in food and accommodations hiring, job openings in Atlanta are up over 80% since January. Houston and Dallas are the only two major markets posting outright declines over the same time period. However, job openings in New York, Las Vegas, Chicago, and LA have stayed largely flat. This comes as the leisure and hospitality industry contracted by 40,000 jobs in July nationally, bringing its two-month decline to over 80,000.
