Recruiting Metrics: Job Order Coverage Ratio

When you get a job order, you need to get a qualified candidate in front of the client quickly.

Key Metric

Open Job Orders with at least one Submitted Resume

Definition

This is the percentage of open job orders where you have sent at least one resume.

What You Need to Know

This metric is important for recruitment firms managing a larger number of job orders because it indicates how well a firm is serving its clients. If the percentage of open job orders with at least one submitted resume is low, it likely suggests one of three things – either the quality of job orders the firm is taking is low, or the firm needs additional horsepower in sourcing and recruiting, or the firm is focusing too much effort on just a few job orders. Regardless of the reason, a poor job order coverage ratio is a major warning sign.
