Precision Resource Group (PRG), headquartered in Bristol, England, is a group of niche recruitment brands: iO Associates, Panoramic Associates, Panoramic Care, and Finitas. The various brands focus on Tech, Digital, Engineering & Energy, Public Sector and Housing, Education, Health and Social Care, and Financial Services respectively. Originally founded in 2009, PRG has been a Bullhorn client since 2019.
Before moving to Bullhorn, PRG was using a CRM that worked “well enough,” but had two significant challenges; it was an on-premises solution and its reporting capabilities were limited. “Moving to a more agile, flexible, cloud-based solution as well as significantly improving our reporting capability were the two main internal drivers,” shared Mark Lloyd, Managing Director at PRG. “We also wanted to ensure our consultants had access to the very best tools available in the marketplace, in order to offer an unparalleled level of service to our candidates and clients alike.”
“The biggest single drawback with our previous solution internally was its reporting capability. This was less of an issue when we were starting out, but as we scaled, and created new brands, and had people working in different geographical locations, our ability to monitor how the business was performing in real-time was definitely holding us back,” said Mark.
When its previous solution was up for renewal, PRG began looking at the market for a new CRM, finally shortlisting Mercury, Vincere, and Bullhorn. Ultimately, PRG chose to purchase Bullhorn ATS & CRM because of its expansive Marketplace and reporting capabilities through Bullhorn Canvas. “Everyone is keen to integrate with Bullhorn. The Bullhorn Marketplace means there are dozens of complementary products that we can consider deploying to ensure we stay ahead of our competitors and continue to offer fresh and exciting recruitment products to our customers,” Mark said.
When PRG initially launched Bullhorn in 2019, they also invested in Kyloe Partners, a Bullhorn Marketplace Partner, to manage the migration and the training of their existing users during the implementation. And post-implementation, as PRG continues to onboard new members of staff, the team have found that new hires are able to learn the ins and outs of Bullhorn incredibly quickly. “People find it really intuitive – it’s simple to navigate around and is very user friendly,” Mark said.
“The fact that we can configure Bullhorn as much as we have has helped enormously. Our multi-brand structure and international reach means our business is more complex than many others, and we’ve needed to do a fair amount of configuration to get Bullhorn working in the way we need it to – something that would never have been possible on our old platform,” Mark said. Since deployment, as PRG continued its expansion across Europe and into the U.S., it found that creating new private labels and segregating data for the new teams was an incredibly simple process.
According to Mark, Bullhorn Canvas has completely transformed how PRG operates, solving countless bottlenecks and inefficiencies across its teams, and improving its reporting capabilities exponentially. “We were running the business off multiple spreadsheets previously. There was a huge amount of duplication, lots of room for manual human error, and it was just completely inefficient. Canvas has revolutionized how we run the company,” Mark said.
With Canvas, the PRG team can keep track of a multitude of key metrics in real-time and it offers unparalleled visibility across the different brands. The managers and directors can instantly compare team and brand performances at a high level, identify patterns and trends, set alarms to trigger when worrying signs begin to appear so that they can be acted upon with before they escalate, and delve into the minutiae detail of recruiters’ sales KPIs like never before. “While this information was all theoretically available to us before Canvas, it meant spending hours collecting and extracting the data. We’d then need to centralize and manipulate the information so that it became digestible.” Today, Mark said, “We’re using real-time data to predict what our future will look like with far greater clarity, enabling us to make better decisions faster and with a great deal more certainty.”
When Mark and the PRG team moved to a cloud-based solution in 2019, they never could have predicted the onset of COVID-19, but the timing of their move was almost prescient. If COVID had hit twelve months ago, when we were still operating with an on-prem CRM, and with all of our documents being stored on a local server, we would have been in the whole world of trouble,” Mark shared. “The lockdown meant that we, like everyone else, had to adapt quickly and find a way for everyone to work safely and productively from home. If we hadn’t been able to leverage Bullhorn’s native cloud architecture, and if we hadn’t had the visibility and clarity that Canvas offers, I dread to think how we’d have coped. As it was, our move to remote working was pretty seamless, thereby minimizing the disruption to our clients and candidates.”
